The worst case is the normal risk of betting, inside the limits you set. ### Every bet leaves a trail Fair price, odds, placement, ticket, result, share: line by line in your dashboard, exportable, and checkable against your bookmaker account. ### We sell measurement, never the bet You are the bettor. Which bookmakers you use, and whether that is permitted where you live, is your decision and your responsibility. Questions ## What people ask before they join. The full list, by audience, is on the FAQ page . ### I am a tipster with paying members. Is this for me? Yes. Your members cannot check your record; here anyone can. You can keep your service exactly as it is, because nothing here is exclusive. If your picks beat the closing line, you get a record you can show to the world and a share of the profit they make on partner accounts. ### Do you ever hold my money? No. Your money sits in your bookmaker accounts; you deposit and you withdraw. We send an invoice for our share after the month is settled. ### What do I have to bring? Both: the bookmaker accounts and the money in them. There is no pool and no outside capital in this network. In a betting group, each account holder runs the Agent on their own account. ### What is the high-water mark? The highest level your program accounts have reached since you joined. The share applies only to profit above it. After a losing month you pay nothing until the loss is recovered, so you never pay twice for the same euro of profit. ### Can you see my picks before kick-off? Not if you seal them. A sealed proposal is encrypted with a time lock to the drand round of kick-off. Before that round nobody can open it, including us. At the round, the public drand beacon opens it and the referee scores it as of the second it was received. ### Is this legal where I live? The Agent is software you use to bet on your own accounts. Whether online betting is permitted where you live, and with which bookmaker, is yours to check, and so are each bookmaker's terms. We do not check that for you. ## Bring signals, bring accounts and money, or bring yourself. Every door is measured the same way. Pick yours. Stop whenever you like: open bets settle and the month is closed. ### What you get - The flagship agent and every agent that reaches the full tier , with their scorecards visible at all times. - Automated placement on every connected bookmaker , with the ticket read back after every bet. - Automatic settlement from independent results. - Your own dashboard : bets, accounts, statements, all exportable. ### What we never do - Hold or move your money. Deposits and withdrawals are yours alone. - Charge a share on a losing month, or on profit you already paid for. - Charge a setup fee or a monthly fee. - Promise a return. Scorecards show what happened; you decide. Controls ## You decide what runs and how much. On or off and which of your bookmakers it may use: you set that in the Agent. Which agents bet for you and how much per bet: you set that in your account, and you can change it any time. The Agent enforces your account's maximum stake and cuts anything larger. On your own computer you can set two more limits that nobody else can touch. What to look for in any betting bot: our guide . - On or off , in the Agent, any time. - Bookmakers : tick the ones the Agent may use. - Agents : tick the ones that may bet on your accounts. - Stake per bet , in euros, for each agent. - Your own limits per bet and per day, stored only on your computer. ### Your settings Example Soccer Drops €20 per bet Soccer Live · Draw at level €10 per bet Maximum stake €40 Bookmakers Stoiximan, Interwetten, Superbet, Pame Stoixima Running last report 4 s ago The money ## You keep 70 %. We only share new profit. The share applies to profit above the highest level your program accounts have reached: the high-water mark. Losses are recovered first, at no charge. You never pay twice for the same euro. ### The high-water mark, in one table You start with €10,000; the share is 30 %. The simulator on the pricing page does the same arithmetic as the settlement. ### Program accounts: everything counts An account you register is a program account. Every bet on it counts toward the split, whether the Agent placed it or you did; bets you place by hand, you report. The engine's signal is the product, and a bet placed by hand from the same information is the same product. If you want to bet privately, keep a separate account for it. ### How profit is defined Settled net profit on your program accounts, above your high-water mark. Voids count as zero, open bets once they settle. Deposits and withdrawals are not profit. What the Agent reports ## Bookkeeping, not surveillance. To settle honestly, the Agent reports what it placed, the balance where the bookmaker shows it, and whether it is running. That is what your statement is built from, and all of it is visible in your dashboard. ### What it sends - Placement reports : ticket, odds, stake, time. - Status : which bookmakers are signed in, and the balance where it is shown. - Heartbeat : version and whether it is running. Bookmakers ## A list that keeps growing. You choose. Which bookmakers you use, and whether that is permitted where you live, is your decision and your responsibility. We do not check it for you. New bookmakers can be connected quickly, so the list keeps growing. Is yours missing? Limits rise once the record is there. Nobody is trusted by declaration; everybody is trusted by record, and the same rule applies to our own agents. The live board ## It comes with your account. The board is free for account holders too. Bets on your program accounts keep counting toward the split, whether the Agent placed them or you did. On manual bets on other accounts that you log in the bet log, 10 % of new profit applies. What you need - Bookmaker accounts , one or more, and the money in them . There is no pool and no outside capital. - A computer that is on while the Agent works. A spare laptop or a small always-on machine is ideal. - Age 18 or over. In a betting group, each account holder runs the Agent on their own account. Questions ## Before you start. More on the FAQ page . ### Is the Manometer Agent a betting bot? In plain words, yes: software that places bets automatically on your bookmaker accounts. It runs on your computer, on your accounts, and you choose the bookmakers, the agents and the stake per bet. The engine decides which bets have value; the Agent places them, reads the ticket back and reports. Our guide to betting bots explains what to look for. ### How is profit defined for the split? Settled net profit on your program accounts, above your high-water mark. Voids count as zero, cash-outs at the cash-out value, open bets only once they settle. Deposits and withdrawals are not profit. ### What is the high-water mark? The highest level your program accounts have reached since you joined. The share applies only to profit above it. After a losing month you pay nothing until the loss is recovered, so you never pay twice for the same euro of profit. ### What does the Agent report? Placement reports with ticket, odds and stake, the balance where the bookmaker shows it, which bookmakers are signed in, and a heartbeat. That is the bookkeeping your statement is built from, and all of it is visible in your dashboard. ### What happens when a bookmaker limits my account? It will happen: winning accounts get limited. When an account is limited, it leaves the program and nothing else changes. What a bookmaker does with an account, including closing it or withholding funds, is the account holder's risk, which is why you start with small stakes. ### Can I see the live board as an account partner? Yes, it is free. Bets on your program accounts keep counting toward the split, whether the Agent placed them or you did. On manual bets on other accounts that you log in the bet log, 10 % of new profit applies. ### Can I place my own bets on a program account? You can, and you report them: they count toward the split, because they come from the same information. Keep a separate account for private betting. ### Which bookmakers can I connect? Prices come from more than 90 bookmakers across Europe, the UK, the US, Canada and Australia, and the list keeps growing. The Agent places bets on a growing list of them, and you choose which ones it uses. New bookmakers can be connected quickly. Which bookmakers you use, and whether that is permitted where you live, is your decision and your responsibility. ### What do I need to start? One or more bookmaker accounts with money in them, and a computer that is on while the Agent works. You must be at least 18. ### Can I stop at any time? Yes. Switch the Agent off, or take an account out of the program. Open bets settle, the month is invoiced, and that is the end of it. ## Ready when your accounts are. Sign up in a minute. Who we are looking for ## Anyone whose picks can beat the closing line. It does not matter how you find your edge or how big you are. It only matters whether the closing line agrees with you, and that is measured the same way for everyone. ### Tipsters You have members or followers and a record they have to take on faith. Here you get public totals and a bundle your members can check themselves, and a share of the profit your picks make on top of your own service. Nothing is exclusive. ### Syndicates You have volume and a real edge, and execution is your bottleneck. Here the execution is built, every bet comes back with its ticket, and your share is computed from settled results you can check line by line. ### Modellers You have a model and no way to prove it to anyone. Send its outputs and we score them against the close. We never ask for the model, and you qualify without showing a single pick. Where this stands today. The referee is live and scores every proposal it receives. Every source runs on paper today; execution for the network starts with the first sources that reach live_small. Until then, your proposals run for real only on accounts you invite yourself. The earlier you start, the longer your record. What you get ## Not "sell us your data". Execution and a record, with a referee. Execution here is automated, every bet is reported with its ticket, and your share is computed from settled results that you can check line by line. ### Execution on a growing list of bookmakers Account holders run the Agent on all connected bookmakers, and new ones can be connected quickly. Once your signals are proven, the engine places them there within the limits of each account. You do not organise anything. ### Accounting nobody can forge Every proposal gets a signed receipt with the second it arrived. Every placement carries your source id and proposal id. Your settlement is built from those bets, not from anybody's word. ### A record you can take anywhere Your scorecard bundle verifies without our server. Show it to your members or an investor and they can check every number themselves. Nobody else can give you that. Sealed until kick-off ## Your picks are sealed. Not even we can open them. While you qualify, you do not have to show us anything. You encrypt each proposal with a time lock to the drand round of kick-off and send only the ciphertext. At that round the public beacon opens it, and the referee scores it as of the second it arrived. drand quicknet · a new round every 3 seconds current round 33500212 received kick-off round scored Sealed on your machine Your proposal is encrypted to the drand round of kick-off. You send only ciphertext. The referee signs a receipt with the fingerprint and freezes the whole market of that second. Nobody can open it early Not us, not anyone. The key does not exist until the League of Entropy publishes that round. Cherry-picking is impossible: every seal opens, whether you like the result or not. Opened and scored At the round, the public beacon opens it. The referee scores it against the market at receipt, then the closing line and the result. Too late to bet on; just right to judge. ### The two rules that keep it honest - Scored at receipt, not at opening. The referee freezes the whole pre-match market the second your ciphertext arrives. A pick sealed after the move gets the closing-line value after the move. - Every seal opens. Time opens them, not you. Nobody can send a thousand seals and reveal the hundred that won. A seal that does not open to a valid proposal counts as invalid on your scorecard. ### You choose the round Target the first round at or after kick-off. A seal that opens more than 60 seconds before kick-off is marked not executable, and one that is already open when it reaches us is refused. Seals can be sent up to 14 days ahead. drand is run by the League of Entropy, a group of independent organisations; we do not operate it. What you get back ## A receipt for every proposal, signed and anchored. The referee answers every proposal with a receipt: your source and proposal id, the second it arrived, the fingerprint of what you sent, the drand round it opens at, and the Merkle root of the whole market at that second. It is signed with the referee's Ed25519 key. Every hour, one Merkle root over all new receipts, closing lines and results goes to the public OpenTimestamps calendars, which commit it into Bitcoin. Expected value is recomputed from the real executable price, never taken from your claim. How much you oversell your edge is measured as well, and it costs rating. Decides your tier ### Stake-weighted CLV Best executable price at receipt against the no-vig Pinnacle close. CS2 matches Pinnacle does not list count against the last Sportmarket line before kick-off, margin removed, and are marked on the scorecard. Share ### Close-beat rate Executable proposals priced above the closing line. Share ### Executable Valid at receipt, matched on the board, and a network bookmaker offering at least your minimum odds. Shown, never qualifies ### Paper yield Flat 1 unit at the best executable price, settled on the final score. Ratio ### EV honesty Recomputed expected value ÷ claimed. Below 1, you oversell. Share ### Uniqueness Selections that did not already show a 2 % edge on our own board at receipt. Units ### Drawdown Deepest fall from a peak, at flat stakes. The ladder ## Promotion is earned with closing-line value. Profit never qualifies on its own. On a hundred or two hundred bets, profit is mostly variance. Beating the closing line is the only statistically meaningful skill signal at that size. The tier can fall as well as rise: a rolling CLV collapse demotes automatically. shadow paper only Every new source and every new agent starts here. The full pipeline runs, nothing is placed. routing weight 0 qualifying paper only At least 100 proposals over at least 30 days, at least 60 % of them executable. Closing-line value not proven yet. routing weight 0 live_small real, capped Closing-line value proven: a close-beat rate of 55 % or more, or an average CLV of +1.5 % or more, over at least 60 proposals with a closing line. routing weight 0.25 live real, full policy Sustained closing-line value at live_small. A rolling CLV collapse demotes automatically. routing weight 1 Routing weight is the share of network capacity a source can claim, capped by account capacity. Thresholds are the published policy (contract v1). How you are paid ## From profit, never from volume. 15 % of the net profit of the bets executed from your signals, with a high-water mark on your own signal book, paid monthly by bank transfer or stablecoin. We split our 30 % with you 50:50, and the account holder's 70 % stays untouched. No fixed fee and no per-signal fee, so there is no reason to send noise. Every bet placed from one of your proposals carries your source id and proposal id; the settlement per source is built from those settled bets, and you see every one of them. Month | Net profit from your signals | Your 15 % 1 | +€10,000 | €1,500 2 | −€2,000 | €0 3 | +€3,000 | €150 only the €1,000 above the mark The arithmetic, not a forecast. Written terms are agreed before any source goes live. ### What we never do - Show your signals on any board, or to any account holder, before placement. - Re-sell your signals or your scorecard. - Ask for your model. We score outputs, not methods. - Ask for exclusivity. Your members and other outlets stay yours. - Score you at your timestamp. We score at ours, which is the only one that cannot be gamed. - Execute for the network before live_small. Shadow and qualifying are paper, except on accounts you invited yourself. ### After you qualify Once we execute your signals, we see them; that is what you are paid for. Your protection then: every placement is time-stamped and reported to you, front-running is forbidden by contract, and it would punish itself anyway, because a bet placed ahead of you worsens the closing-line value that pays you. Sending proposals ## From a browser or from your own code. Two ways in, one contract. Proposals carry an event, a market, a selection, your fair price with its devig method, your minimum odds and a time to live. The same proposal id twice gives the same receipt twice: exactly one receipt per id, ever. Console ### Seal in the browser Sign in, enter the game, market, selection and minimum odds, and seal. Encryption happens in your browser; the plain text never leaves your machine. Batch upload by CSV. No programming needed. Questions ## What tipsters and syndicates ask first. More on the FAQ page . ### We are a syndicate. Why would we send you anything? Because execution is the hard part, and here it is already built. You keep your method, your data and your other outlets. You qualify without showing a single pick, you see every bet placed from your signals, and your share is computed from settled results anyone can check. ### What do you do with the signals you receive? Score them, and from live_small on, execute the ones that proved themselves on partner accounts. They are never shown on any board and never passed to partners before placement. We score outputs; we never ask for the model. ### Can you see my picks before kick-off? Not if you seal them. A sealed proposal is encrypted with a time lock to the drand round of kick-off. Before that round nobody can open it, including us. At the round, the public drand beacon opens it and the referee scores it as of the second it was received. ### What if I send a pick after the line has moved? It is scored at the moment we received it, against the market snapshot of that second. A pick sent after the move gets the closing-line value after the move. That is exactly what the scorecard is there to show. ### How are signal sources paid? 15 % of the net profit of the bets executed from your signals, with a high-water mark on your own signal book, paid monthly. We split our 30 % with you 50:50, and the account holder's 70 % stays untouched. These terms are confirmed in writing before any source goes live. ### Are signals being executed today? Not yet. Every source runs on paper in the referee today, which is the point of qualifying. Execution on partner accounts starts with the first sources that reach live_small. ### Do I have to make my scorecard public? No. It is private until you publish it, and you can withdraw it at any time. In public it only ever shows weekly totals. You can always download your full bundle and show it to anyone you like; it verifies without our server. ### Can I send live tips? Yes, for winner markets (1X2, money line). Find the running match in the console, or set live: true through the API. A live tip goes in clear, because the match has already started, and it counts the moment it arrives, if a network bookmaker still offers your minimum odds. There is no closing line in play, so a live tip is judged on two things: its EV when it arrives, against the fair price of that moment (Pinnacle live first, otherwise Sportmarket with the margin removed), and its result. If there is no fair price, the result alone counts. A live tip in a market we do not score, or without a fresh price at a network bookmaker, does not count against you. ### Why do scorecards show totals only? Because signals run on real bookmaker accounts, and a public list of every bet would show too much. Every proposal still counts: sealed until kick-off, signed and anchored in Bitcoin every hour, so the record stays fully checkable later. The full record stays with the source. In certain cases we grant access, for example to investors, partners or auditors under confidentiality. ### Which markets are scored? Today: 1X2 and money lines, football handicaps and totals, basketball spreads and totals, wherever the board has a Pinnacle fair price. A proposal is executable when a network bookmaker offers at least your minimum odds at receipt. ## Qualify without showing a single pick. Tipster, syndicate or modeller: register, confirm your email, get your key, seal your first proposals and watch the referee score them. Nothing is executed until the closing line says so. Start for free → --- Source: https://manometer.bet/how-it-works.html How it works # One engine, one referee, three ways in. Manometer is a pipeline. It measures prices, turns the edges it finds into bets on the accounts of the people who own them, and scores everything against the closing line. Here is each stage, what it does, and the record it leaves behind. 1 Pinnacle fair price The sharpest market in the world, with the margin removed. The reference for everything. 2 90+ bookmakers Odds pre-match and in-play, the direct feeds every few seconds, plus the exchanges. 3 Edges Every price above fair is a candidate, and every candidate is paper-scored, bet or not. 4 Agents and sources Named strategies, ours and those of tipsters and syndicates, turn candidates into bets. Each has a scorecard and a tier. 5 Placement The Agent places the bet on the account holder's account and reads the ticket back. 6 Settlement Results from independent sources; the few entered by hand are marked. Every bet can be checked against its ticket. 7 The referee Closing-line value, yield, availability, uniqueness and EV honesty, for every bet and every signal. Stage 1 · the reference ## Pinnacle's price, with the margin taken out. Pinnacle runs the sharpest, lowest-margin market and welcomes winning customers, so its prices absorb what the best bettors in the world know. Remove its margin and you have the closest thing to a true probability the market offers. That number is the fair price , and everything in the network is measured against it. The margin is removed with the Shin method by default; proportional and other methods can be chosen on the board. A fair price that is too old is not used: before every automated bet the engine reads Pinnacle again, and a price older than 30 seconds does not count. The guide on how to calculate fair odds shows the arithmetic. ### Why the closing line matters The last fair price before kick-off is the closing line . If you consistently get better prices than the close, you have an edge, and you can see it after a few hundred bets instead of a few thousand. Profit at that sample size is mostly luck. Closing-line value is not. That is why every promotion in the network, for our agents and for outside sources, is earned with closing-line value and never with profit alone. Stage 2 · the market ## 90+ bookmakers, the direct feeds every few seconds. Prices come in from more than 90 bookmakers, pre-match and in-play: Greek, German, British, EU, US, Canadian, Australian and offshore books, and the exchanges. The direct feeds update every few seconds, the wider market on a fixed cycle. Every price carries the second it was read, so a stale price is visible as stale. Matching the same game across 90+ books is harder than it sounds. Team names differ, leagues differ, home and away get swapped. The engine matches in three layers and refuses a match when two candidates are almost equally good: a missed bet costs nothing, a wrong match costs money. ### Placement today The Agent places bets automatically on a growing part of them, with the ticket read back from the bookmaker after every bet. New bookmakers can be connected quickly. Connected today: efbet Elabet Fonbet Fonbet.gr Interwetten MyStake / Jackbit Pame Stoixima Stoiximan Superbet TrustDice more coming Which of them you use, and whether that is permitted where you live, is your decision and your responsibility. Stage 3 · the candidates ## Every edge is scored, bet or not. Any price above fair is a candidate. The engine records every candidate per game, outcome and bookmaker, and settles it on paper when the game ends. 18,820 of them so far. This is what keeps the agents honest. When a new strategy shows +25 % after 60 bets, the referee already knows how thousands of similar candidates did. When the small number disagrees with the large one, the large one wins until the small one has grown up. ### An example from the record In-play draws: −12.5 % at flat stakes over 5,032 paper candidates. In-play home wins: +8.5 % over 3,861. That is why there is no in-play draw agent at full stakes, even though one small rule looks brilliant after 63 bets. Referee paper record, 25 Oct 2026. Stage 4 · the strategies ## Agents and sources climb the same ladder. An agent is a named strategy of ours. A signal source is someone else's: a tipster, a syndicate, a modeller. Both send the same thing to the engine, a proposal : event, market, selection, fair price, minimum odds, time to live. Both are scored the same way. A proposal is never an order. The engine recomputes the expected value from the real executable price, never from the claim, and measures how much a source oversells its edge. Then it decides where, whether and how much. shadow paper only Every new source and every new agent starts here. The full pipeline runs, nothing is placed. routing weight 0 qualifying paper only At least 100 proposals over at least 30 days, at least 60 % of them executable. A rolling CLV collapse demotes automatically. routing weight 1 Thresholds are the published policy. The tier can fall as well as rise. Stage 5 · the bet ## Placed by the Agent, on the account holder's account. The Manometer Agent is the program that does the placing. The engine sends each bet just in time; the Agent places it, reads the ticket back, and reports within seconds, stamped on our side before any result exists. ### What the account holder decides - On or off. One switch in the Agent, any time. - Bookmakers. Which of their bookmakers the Agent may use. - Agents and stakes. Which agents bet on their accounts and how much per bet, chosen by them in their account. The Agent enforces the account's maximum stake. Stage 6 · the result ## Settled from independent results. Results come from independent sources. The few entered by hand are marked as such. Every bet on a statement can be checked against its ticket in the bookmaker account. A bet the system cannot confirm is shown as uncertain and does not count until it is cleared. ### Where a statement comes from Part | Source The bet | The Agent's placement report, with the ticket read back from the bookmaker The result | Independent results services The share | Profit above the high-water mark, computed once a month Stage 7 · the referee ## Five scores, all or nothing. The referee is the part of the network that proves what it received and when, and scores every source against the closing line. It runs around the clock and never places a bet. Score 1 ### Closing-line value Best executable price at receipt against the no-vig closing price. Measured at the second we received the proposal, never at a timestamp someone else claims. Score 2 ### Settled result Profit and yield from independent results. Shown always, never enough to qualify on its own. Score 3 ### Availability Was the price still there? A signal that arrives after the move is worthless, and its scorecard says so. Score 4 ### Uniqueness Did the selection already show an edge of 2 % or more on our own board at receipt? A feed that re-sells Pinnacle drops adds nothing. Score 5 ### EV honesty Expected value recomputed from the real price, divided by what the source claimed. Below 1, it oversells its edge, and that costs rating. Rule ### All or nothing One scorecard per agent and per source. Every proposal counts, sealed ones included. There is no way to send a thousand picks and show the good hundred. Who does what ## The money stays with the people who own it. This split is not a detail of the contract. It is the design. Paper figures come from the referee's record of every candidate. A lesson from the record ## Why there is no in-play draw agent at full stakes. The referee scores every candidate, not only the bets. On 5,032 in-play draw candidates it recorded −12.5 % at flat stakes, against +8.5 % on 3,861 in-play home candidates. One small in-play draw rule shows +24.8 % after 63 bets. When a small number disagrees with a large one, the large one wins until the small one has grown up. That is what the capped tier is for. Another one ## Why the flagship stops at 2.70. The same mechanism on longer prices has the same closing-line value, +5.9 % against +6.4 %, and lost 5.2 % over 325 bets. Long prices lose to variance and to limits before the edge pays. So it was retired, and the line was drawn where the money stops arriving. Promotion ## Agents climb the same ladder as every outside source. Each link is committed before anyone can know the information that would make it worth faking: the pick before kick-off, the receipt before the result, the anchor before anyone could want to change it. 1 Sealed The source encrypts its proposal to the drand round of kick-off. Only ciphertext travels. 2 Received and signed The referee stamps the second it arrived and signs a receipt with the fingerprint of what came in. 3 Market frozen The whole pre-match board of that second is snapshotted; its Merkle root is in the receipt. 4 Anchored Every hour one Merkle root over all new receipts, closing lines and results goes to Bitcoin via OpenTimestamps. 5 Opened At the kick-off round the public drand beacon opens the seal. It opens at drand round 33,613,012, 2026-11-02 18:00 UTC. Until then, nobody can read it, including us. What each check proves ## And, just as important, what it does not. Proof that overclaims is worse than none. Each check below answers one question precisely. Check | Proves | Does not prove | Where Signature | The referee issued exactly this receipt. | That the referee's clock was right; the anchor covers that. | Browser, CLI Receipt id | The receipt was not edited after it was issued. | Anything about the proposal's content. | Browser, CLI Fingerprint | The ciphertext or proposal you hold is the one that was received. | That the proposal was any good. | Browser, CLI Time lock | The seal could not be opened before its round; it opens to the proposal in the bundle. | That the source chose a sensible round; a seal opening before kick-off is marked. | Round in browser, opening in CLI Anchor | The receipt existed no later than the Bitcoin block that holds the anchor. | That it existed no earlier; the receipt time is the referee's. | Path in browser, Bitcoin in CLI Market proof | The price used for scoring was in the market snapshot of that second. | That the market data was complete; it is one board's view. | CLI Bundle root | Nothing was added to or removed from the scorecard. | That the source sent all its picks to us, rather than only some of them. | CLI On open source ## Open code proves what we publish, not what runs on our server. Nobody should claim otherwise. The protection for a signal source comes from the seal, not from the code: in the valuable window, before kick-off, we only hold ciphertext. What runs on our server afterwards cannot change what the receipts and anchors already fixed. What open source gives you: an Agent whose behaviour you can read, a protocol anyone can implement, and a verifier that computes exactly what the referee computes. Its library files are byte-identical copies of the referee's own. What is open, and when Run it yourself ## The verifier. It needs the bundle and nothing from us: drand beacons come from the public drand network, Bitcoin headers from any block explorer. --offline skips those lookups and relies on the bundle alone. # Node 18 or newer · the only dependency is tlock-js (drand) npm install node manometer-verify.js all nordic-models.bundle.json # or one part at a time node manometer-verify.js receipts nordic-models.bundle.json # signatures, fingerprints, hourly anchors, Bitcoin header node manometer-verify.js seals nordic-models.bundle.json # every seal opens at its drand round, to the published proposal node manometer-verify.js prices nordic-models.bundle.json # market at receipt, closing line, CLV recomputed node manometer-verify.js results nordic-models.bundle.json # results from the final score, paper P&L recomputed # exit code 0 = everything checked out · 1 = at least one mismatch · 2 = unreadable input ## Qualify without showing a single pick. So every Agent release comes with what you need to check that the program you run is the program in the repository. ### Signed builds Every Agent release is source, checksums and a signature. A small script compares what you installed with the published release, file by file. ### What it sends home One file in the source, PHONE_HOME.md , lists every message the Agent sends and to whom, your balances included. You can read exactly what leaves your machine. ### Tests on every commit Each repository has its own tests, set up to run on every change. A release needs every test green. ### Security reports The Agent had its first security review, and vulnerabilities have a private channel. ### Contributions Developer Certificate of Origin for every contribution, code owners for the sensitive parts, clear rules for issues. ### Governance The repositories start under Manometer and can move to an independent association once there is a community to govern. The honest limit ## What open source does not prove. It proves what we publish, not what runs on our server. That is why the protection for signal sources comes from the seal, not from the code: before kick-off we only ever hold ciphertext. And that is why every record comes as a bundle that the verifier checks against public drand beacons and Bitcoin, not against anything of ours. Build on it ## Implement the protocol yourself. The contract is plain JSON over HTTPS. Canonical JSON, Ed25519, RFC 6962 Merkle trees, tlock and OpenTimestamps are open standards with libraries in every common language. A second, independent verifier would make the network stronger, and we would link to it. Developer documentation --- Source: https://manometer.bet/pricing.html Pricing # Paid when it works. Account holders receive an invoice for the share once a month, payable by bank transfer or in a stablecoin. Signal sources receive their share monthly the same ways. The share on manual bets in the bet log works the same way, on a monthly invoice. Stablecoins are a payment rail and nothing more: there is no token. What we never charge - A share on a losing month, or on recovering a loss - Setup, onboarding or per-bet fees - Fees to qualify as a signal source - Anything on deposits, withdrawals or balances Questions ## About money. All questions on the FAQ page . ### How are signal sources paid? 15 % of the net profit of the bets executed from your signals, with a high-water mark on your own signal book, paid monthly. We split our 30 % with you 50:50, and the account holder's 70 % stays untouched. These terms are confirmed in writing before any source goes live. ### Do you ever hold my money? No. Your money sits in your bookmaker accounts; you deposit and you withdraw. We send an invoice for our share after the month is settled. ### What does the board cost? Nothing during the start-up phase, and you need no payment details. On manual bets in your bet log we charge 10 % of new profit from 1 November 2026, only above your highest level so far, once a month. If we change the price, we tell you at least 30 days ahead. ### Can I have the live board and an Agent partnership? Yes. Bets on your program accounts count toward the split, manual bets on other accounts in the bet log toward the 10 %. The same bet never counts twice. ### Why is there no token? Because a token would add securities law and gambling advertising law at the same time and solve nothing the network needs. The referee needs the closing line to be honest, not a blockchain; it uses Bitcoin only as a public clock for its anchors. --- Source: https://manometer.bet/trust.html Trust and safety # Designed so that cheating is detectable and the damage is capped. Nobody can make fraud impossible. What a system can do is make every cheat visible in the numbers and limit what it can cost. That applies to account holders, to sources, and to us. ### For signal sources - Sealed until kick-off. In the valuable window we only hold ciphertext. - Signed receipts, anchored hourly. What you sent and when cannot be changed later, by anyone. - Never shown before placement. Not on any board, not to any account holder. - Attribution by id. Every executed bet carries your source and proposal id. - A portable record. Your bundle verifies without our server. ### For account holders - We hold no money. Your money stays in your accounts. The worst case is the normal risk of betting, inside your limits. - A trail for every bet. Fair price, odds, placement, ticket, result, share. Exportable and checkable against your bookmaker account. - A maximum stake the Agent enforces. A larger stake is cut to it. Which agents run and how much per bet is your choice, in your account. - One switch. Turn the Agent off, and nothing more is placed. ### For the network - Time-bound reports. Placement results arrive within seconds, stamped on our side before any result exists. - Statistical check. "Failed" placements must win as often as placed ones. If they win more, we know. - Program accounts. Everything on a registered account counts. - Small stakes first. Limits rise with the record. - The signal is the leash. Unpaid shares switch the signal off the same day. Who could cheat, and how it shows ## Eight ways to cheat, and what each one costs the cheater. We wrote this list against ourselves first. Most cheats only work if the system believes what the client says. It does not. Who, and how | What stops it, or shows it An account holder does not pay the share we hold no money | The signal is the leash: without the engine the Agent is worthless, and it is switched off the same day. Our exposure is one settlement period, never more. "The bet was not placed" said only of winners | Placement results are reported within seconds, stamped on our side before any result exists. And the failed ones must win at the same rate as the placed ones; after fifty bets a difference is visible. Bets are copied to a second account that is not in the program | Bets arrive just in time, not as a feed. Not everyone gets every bet, so each set is a fingerprint. Copying is a breach of contract. And registering the second account is simpler than cheating. Private betting on a program account | It counts anyway. Program accounts are program accounts, and hiding it is a breach of contract. A source bets first, then sends the signal | It is scored at receipt, after its own move: worse closing-line value, no execution, no pay. It punishes itself. A source sends thousands and shows the winners | One scorecard, everything counts, and seals open by time, not by choice. A source re-sells what the board already shows | Uniqueness is measured against our own board at receipt. It scores as nothing. Someone says we cheated | Every bet has its full trail in the dashboard, exportable; every receipt is signed and anchored. The answer is in the record, not in an argument. How the network is built ## We sell measurement. Never the bet. - You are the bettor. On your own accounts, with your own money. - Your bookmakers, your responsibility. Which ones you use, and whether that is permitted where you live, is your decision. - No pool, no outside capital, no token. You bring the accounts and the money. Data ## Only what settlement needs. Your contact details, the accounts you register, the Agent's placement reports and status. Used for settlement and fraud prevention, never sold, deleted when the retention period ends. Privacy policy Responsible betting Security ## Keys stay where they belong. The referee's signing key never leaves its server and is never logged. A manometer measures pressure. Ours measures prices: every price at more than 90 bookmakers against the sharpest market there is, and every bet against the closing line. Everything else on this site follows from taking that measurement seriously. ### In one sentence We sell measurement. Never the bet. Principles ## Four rules we hold ourselves to. They are easy to write down and expensive to keep. That is the point of writing them down. ### Measure, don't guess A model is an opinion. The closing line is a measurement. Every promotion, every share and every scorecard is computed against it. ### Never the bet We do not take bets and do not hold player money. Bets are placed on the account holder's own accounts, with their own money. ### Show what we stop Paused and retired agents stay on the site with their numbers. A record without its failures is an advertisement. ### Proof over promise Signed receipts, sealed picks, Bitcoin anchors, an open verifier. Whatever we claim about a source, you can check without asking us. The story so far ## From one game's data to more than 90 bookmakers. Manometer started in 2026 as a Counter-Strike data project, pricing maps with models. The lesson that stuck was humbling: the models were opinions, and the market's closing line kept being right. So the project turned around and started measuring the market itself. That became an odds engine across more than 90 bookmakers, a board for professionals, and an automated agent that has been betting since 28 June 2026. Every one of its bets is in the network log, scored against the close. In October the referee went live: sealed proposals, signed receipts and hourly Bitcoin anchors, so that tipsters and syndicates can be scored by the same rules. What comes next - Sources The first tipsters and syndicates through the referee, on the same ladder as our own agents. - Breadth More bookmakers with automated placement, more markets: handicaps and totals everywhere, more sports. - Account holders More people who bring accounts and money through the Agent. - Release 1, open source The Agent, the protocol and the verifier in public repositories. It collects odds from more than 90 bookmakers, compares every price with the Pinnacle fair price, and scores every bet and every signal against the closing line. Around that engine sits a network: account holders who let the Agent bet for them, tipsters and syndicates who send signals, and professionals who use the live board. We sell measurement. We never take the bet. ### Is Manometer a bookmaker or a tipping service? Neither. We do not accept bets, we do not hold player funds, and we do not sell tips. Bets are placed on the account holder's own accounts. What we provide is the measurement and the automation, and on the Agent we are paid only when it works. ### What is closing-line value (CLV)? The price you got compared with the final price before kick-off, with the bookmaker's margin removed. If you took 2.10 and the market closed at a fair 2.00, your CLV is +5 %. The guide to closing line value shows the calculation step by step. Beating the closing line consistently is the only early proof of skill in betting. Profit over a few hundred bets is mostly luck; CLV is not. That is why every promotion in the network is earned with CLV, never with profit alone. ### Why is Pinnacle the reference? Pinnacle runs the sharpest, lowest-margin market and welcomes winning customers, so its prices absorb the information of the best bettors in the world. With the margin removed, its price is the closest thing to a true probability that the market offers. Every serious bettor uses it as the yardstick. ### Can I earn by bringing people to the network? Yes. Everyone in the network can get a personal link with one click in the member area, and anyone else can register as an affiliate. You earn 25 % of what we earn from the people you bring, for as long as they stay. The affiliate page has the details. ### Can I hold several roles with one login? Yes. Sign up for one role, then add the others in your member area under "Roles": accept the conditions of that role and you are done. Tipster and affiliate work at once. As an account holder you confirm your email, and your account is there. ## For tipsters, syndicates and modellers ### I am a tipster with paying members. Is this for me? Yes. Your members cannot check your record; here anyone can. You can keep your service exactly as it is, because nothing here is exclusive. If your picks beat the closing line, you get a record you can show to the world and a share of the profit they make on partner accounts. ## For account holders ### Is the Manometer Agent a betting bot? In plain words, yes: software that places bets automatically on your bookmaker accounts. It runs on your computer, on your accounts, and you choose the bookmakers, the agents and the stake per bet. The engine decides which bets have value; the Agent places them, reads the ticket back and reports. Our guide to betting bots explains what to look for. ## For professionals ### What does the board cost? Nothing during the start-up phase, and you need no payment details. On manual bets in your bet log we charge 10 % of new profit from 1 November 2026, only above your highest level so far, once a month. If we change the price, we tell you at least 30 days ahead. ### Can I have the live board and an Agent partnership? Yes. Bets on your program accounts count toward the split, manual bets on other accounts in the bet log toward the 10 %. The same bet never counts twice. ## Proof and verification ### What exactly can I verify myself? Every receipt's signature and timestamp, that every seal opened at its drand round and not before, the market snapshot each proposal was scored against, the closing line, the result, the CLV and the paper profit, and that nothing was added to or removed from a scorecard. The verifier needs the bundle and nothing from our servers. ### Does open source prove what runs on your server? No, and nobody should claim it does. Open source proves what we publish. The protection for a signal source comes from the seal: in the valuable window, before kick-off, we only hold ciphertext. What runs on our server afterwards cannot change what the receipts already fixed. ## Legal, safety and data ### Is this legal where I live? The Agent is software you use to bet on your own accounts. Whether online betting is permitted where you live, and with which bookmaker, is yours to check, and so are each bookmaker's terms. We do not check that for you. ### Why is there no token? Because a token would add securities law and gambling advertising law at the same time and solve nothing the network needs. The referee needs the closing line to be honest, not a blockchain; it uses Bitcoin only as a public clock for its anchors. ### How do you prevent fraud? By making every cheat visible in the numbers and capping what it can cost: placement reports stamped before any result exists, a check on failed placements, program accounts where everything counts, small stakes at the start, and a signal that switches off the same day a share is not paid. ### What happens to my data? We process what the service needs: your contact details, the accounts in your program, the bets on them, and the Agent's reports. It is used for settlement and fraud prevention and is never sold. The privacy policy has the details. ### Still a question? Write to us through the contact form. We answer every message, usually within two working days. Nothing here promises a profit: betting can lose money, and it is for adults only. --- Source: https://manometer.bet/guides/arbitrage-betting.html Guide # Arbitrage betting and surebets explained An arbitrage bet, or surebet, covers every outcome of a market at different bookmakers, so that the total payout is the same whichever way it ends and is higher than the total stake. It works on paper every time. In practice, the risk sits between the two bets. ## The formula Take the best price for each outcome and add up 1 ÷ odds . If the total is below 1, there is an arbitrage. The return on the total stake is 1 ÷ total − 1 . Example. Player A at 2.10 at one bookmaker, player B at 2.05 at another. 1 ÷ 2.10 + 1 ÷ 2.05 = 0.4762 + 0.4878 = 0.9640 . Below 1, so this is an arbitrage. Return: 1 ÷ 0.9640 − 1 = 3.7 % . ## How to split the stakes Each stake is the total stake × (1 ÷ odds) ÷ total. For €100 in the example above: Bet | Odds | Stake | Payout if it wins Player A | 2.10 | €49.40 | €103.74 Player B | 2.05 | €50.60 | €103.73 You stake €100 and get about €103.73 back, whoever wins. ## With a betting exchange You can also cover a bet by laying the same outcome on an exchange. The commission counts: with 2 % commission, a win at odds of 2.20 is worth only 1 + 1.20 × 0.98 = 2.176. Example. Back at 2.30 at a bookmaker with €100, lay at 2.26 on an exchange with 2 % commission. Lay stake = 100 × 2.30 ÷ (2.26 − 0.02) = €102.68 , with €129.37 at risk on the exchange. Either way, about €0.63 is left. Prices that look close leave little after commission. ## What are middles? A middle uses two different lines. For example, team A −2.5 at one bookmaker and team B +3.5 at another. If A wins by exactly three goals or points, both bets win. In every other case one bet wins and one loses, and you pay a small cost. A middle is not risk-free. It is a cheap ticket on a rarer outcome, and it only pays if that outcome is priced too low. ## Why arbitrage is not risk-free - The second bet can fail. The price moves or the stake is capped after the first bet is placed. You then hold an open position you never wanted. - Different rules. Bookmakers settle retirements in tennis, overtime or abandoned matches differently. One bet can be voided while the other stands. - Obvious errors. A price that looks too good is often a mistake, and a bookmaker may void it in its terms. - Money is tied up. You need balances at many bookmakers, for a small return per bet. - Accounts get limited. Bookmakers limit winning accounts, and this is your risk. ## Arbitrage or value betting? Arbitrage locks in a small return per bet, if both sides go through. Value betting takes one side only: results swing far more, and it does not need a second price at the same moment. Many professionals do both. The Manometer board shows arbitrage and middles across bookmakers and the exchange with stake splits, next to value bets against the Pinnacle fair price. All guides: overview . That is all it is. It makes a good strategy faster and more consistent, and a bad one lose money faster. The question is never whether a bot runs, but whether its bets have an edge, and how you could check. ## What a betting bot does - Reads prices from bookmakers, and usually from a sharp reference market. - Decides which bets meet its rules, for example a minimum expected value . - Places the bet on an account at the current price, within a stake limit. - Checks the result of the placement. Did the bet go through, at which odds, for which stake? - Keeps the books. Settlement, profit, and a comparison with the closing line. Step 4 is the one that cheap tools skip. A bot that assumes its bet went through will sooner or later bet the same thing twice, or report a bet that never existed. ## Common kinds - Value bots bet when a bookmaker's price is above the fair price. - Arbitrage bots cover all outcomes across bookmakers. See our guide to arbitrage betting . - Exchange bots place and lay bets on betting exchanges, often through an official interface. - Tip followers copy someone else's picks, and are only as good as the tipster behind them . ## What can go wrong - No edge. Automation does not create one. Without a measured edge, the margin eats the balance. - Wrong market. A bot that confuses two markets with similar names places real bets on a fake value. - Double bets and missed tickets. Connection problems at the wrong moment, if nothing is read back. - Bookmaker rules and limits. Winning accounts get limited, and many bookmakers restrict automated tools in their terms. What a bookmaker does with an account, including closing it or withholding funds, is the account holder's risk. Read the terms; the decision is yours. - Sellers instead of results. A bot sold for a monthly fee earns its seller money either way. ## Questions to ask before you use one - Who holds the money? It should stay in your accounts. Never hand your betting money to a bot provider. - Can the record be checked? All bets, not a selection, with closing-line value, not just profit. - How is the provider paid? A share of new profit means the provider only earns when you do. A fixed fee does not. - Can you set limits and stop? Stake limits per bet and per day, and an off switch that works straight away. - Does it run on your own accounts, in your own name? Accounts in someone else's name are a legal and practical risk. ## How the Manometer Agent answers those questions The Manometer Agent is automated betting software of this kind: it runs on your computer and places bets on your own bookmaker accounts. The engine decides which bets have value, the Agent places them, reads the ticket back from the bookmaker and reports within seconds. - Your money stays in your accounts. We never hold it. - You keep 70 % of new profit above a high-water mark. In a month without new profit, you pay nothing. There are no fixed fees. - You choose which bookmakers it uses, which agents may bet, and the stake per bet. You can stop at any time. - Every agent's record is on this site, including the ones paused and retired. Next: Arbitrage betting and surebets . Past results do not predict future results. Before you trust or pay a tipster, there are five questions a real record can answer, and most cannot. This also works in reverse: if you are a good tipster, these are the questions you want to be able to answer. ## Five questions for any record ### 1. Was every pick public before kick-off? A screenshot can be edited, and a post can be deleted. Ask for something the tipster could not have changed afterwards: a time stamp from a third party, a sealed pick, or at the very least a public channel where edits and deletions are visible. ### 2. Are the losers still there? Send winning tips to one list and losing tips to another, and one list looks brilliant. Ask for the complete record from day one, including every void, and check that bets are not missing around bad weeks. ### 3. Could you have got those odds? A record at 2.20 means little if the price was gone a minute after the post, or was only available at one small bookmaker for a few euros. Compare the stated odds with the market at that moment. ### 4. Do the picks beat the closing line? This is the strongest single test. If the picks are good, the market tends to move towards them after they are posted. Compare the stated odds with the fair price at kick-off: that is closing line value . It shows skill long before profit can. ### 5. How many bets is it based on? Even at even odds, a bettor without any edge lands beyond plus or minus 6 % yield after 1,000 bets about one time in twenty. At higher odds the spread is larger still. A great month means almost nothing, and fifty bets mean nothing at all. ## Red flags - Guaranteed wins, "fixed matches" or inside information for sale. These are scams. - Yields of 30 % and more over hundreds of bets, with no closing-line figures to support them. - No losing months at all. - Mainly long-odds combination bets, where a single big win hides a long run of losses. - Results shown in units with changing stakes, so that big winners happen to carry the most units. - No answer to the five questions above. ## What a record nobody can fake looks like The clean technical answer is a pick that cannot be read before kick-off and cannot be changed after sending. That is what Manometer's referee does for signal sources : - Picks are sealed with a time lock to the kick-off round of the public drand beacon. Before that round nobody can open them, including us. - Every pick gets a signed receipt, anchored hourly in Bitcoin, so that it cannot be removed or back-dated later. - It is scored against the Pinnacle closing line, at the second it arrived. - Anyone holding a receipt can check it in the browser , without our server. Public scorecards show weekly totals; individual picks stay with the source. Are you a tipster or syndicate who wants a record like this? Registering is free , and nothing here is exclusive. Betting is for adults only and can be addictive: responsible betting . --- Source: https://manometer.bet/guides/closing-line-value.html Guide # What is closing line value (CLV)? Closing line value compares the odds you took with the fair odds at kick-off. It is the fastest honest way to tell skill from luck in betting, because it needs far fewer bets than profit does. ## The formula CLV = your odds ÷ fair closing odds − 1. The closing line is the last price before kick-off. "Fair" means with the bookmaker's margin taken out. Example. You took 2.10. At kick-off the market closed at fair odds of 2.00. 2.10 ÷ 2.00 − 1 = +5 % . You got a price 5 % better than the market's final estimate. ## Why the closing line matters Odds move as money and information come in. By kick-off, the sharpest markets have absorbed what the best bettors in the world know, so their closing price is the best public estimate of the true probability. If you regularly get better prices than that estimate, you were ahead of the market when you bet. Pinnacle is the usual yardstick because it runs a low margin and welcomes winning customers. Its price, with the margin removed, is the closest thing to a true probability the market offers. ## How to calculate it yourself - Write down the odds you took and the market. - Just before kick-off, take the price of a sharp bookmaker for every outcome of that market. - Remove the margin. Our guide on how to calculate fair odds shows how. - Divide your odds by the fair closing odds and subtract 1. Example with the margin. A two-way market closes at 1.95 and 1.95. The implied probabilities are 51.28 % each, 102.56 % together. Without the margin each side is 50 %, so the fair odds are 2.00. Your 2.10 gives +5 %. ## Why profit alone tells you so little Take 1,000 flat-stake bets at odds of 2.00 with no edge at all. The spread of the result, one standard deviation, is about 3.2 % of turnover, so a yield beyond plus or minus 6 % after 1,000 bets happens by pure chance roughly one time in twenty. Profit over a few hundred bets is mostly luck. CLV moves far less from bet to bet, because it does not depend on who won. A positive average over a few hundred bets says much more than the profit over the same bets. ## What CLV does not tell you - It is an estimate, not money. Positive CLV has to turn into profit over time, and long losing runs still happen. - Thin markets close badly. In small leagues the close is less informed, and a price can even move because of your own bet. - In play there is no close. For live bets you can only compare your price with the fair price at that moment. - You must have got the price. A price that was gone before the bet was accepted proves nothing. ## How Manometer uses CLV Every bet and every signal in the network is scored against the Pinnacle closing price with the margin removed. If Pinnacle publishes no close, the last fair price before kick-off counts. CS2 matches Pinnacle does not list count against the last Sportmarket line before kick-off, margin removed, and are marked on the scorecard. Promotions are earned with CLV, never with profit alone. You can see the result per agent on the agents page , and the board records CLV for your own bets automatically. Next: What is a value bet? Past results do not predict future results. Betting is for adults only and can be addictive: responsible betting . --- Source: https://manometer.bet/guides/fair-odds.html Guide # How to calculate fair odds Bookmaker odds contain a margin. Fair odds are what is left when you take it out: the market's estimate of the true probability. This is also called removing the vig, or devigging. ## Step 1: odds to probabilities The implied probability of a decimal price is 1 ÷ odds . Add up all outcomes of a market. Anything above 100 % is the bookmaker's margin, also called the overround. Example. A football match at 2.40 / 3.40 / 3.10. 41.67 % + 29.41 % + 32.26 % = 103.34 % . The margin is 3.34 points. ## Step 2: the proportional method The simplest way: divide each implied probability by the total. Outcome | Odds | Implied | Fair probability | Fair odds Home | 2.40 | 41.67 % | 40.32 % | 2.48 Draw | 3.40 | 29.41 % | 28.46 % | 3.51 Away | 3.10 | 32.26 % | 31.22 % | 3.20 This is easy and good enough for balanced markets. It has one known weakness: it takes the same share off every outcome, while bookmakers tend to load more margin onto long shots. That is called the favourite-longshot bias. ## Step 3: the Shin method The Shin method allows for that bias. It assumes a small share of the money, called z, comes from bettors who know more than the bookmaker, and that long shots are priced to protect against them. With q as the implied probability of an outcome and Σq as the total: p = ( √( z² + 4 · (1 − z) · q² ÷ Σq ) − z ) ÷ ( 2 · (1 − z) ) You choose z so that the fair probabilities add up to exactly 100 %. A few lines of code find it by trial. The difference shows on uneven markets: Example. A two-way market at 1.25 / 4.20, a total of 103.81 %. Proportional: fair odds 1.30 / 4.36 . Shin (z = 3.9 %): fair odds 1.28 / 4.57 . A bookmaker offering 4.40 on the long shot looks like value by the first method and not by the second. On a 50 / 50 market both methods give the same result. ## Which prices to start from - A sharp market. Removing the margin from a soft bookmaker only gives you that bookmaker's opinion. Use a low-margin market that accepts winning customers, such as Pinnacle. - A current price. Fair odds age quickly, in play within seconds. - A complete market. You need every outcome of the same market at the same moment. Mixing a two-way price including overtime with a three-way price gives nonsense. ## Fair odds at Manometer The network removes the margin from Pinnacle's price with the Shin method by default; proportional and other methods can be chosen on the board . A fair price that is too old is not used. The fair price is the base for value bets and for closing line value . Next: How to check a tipster's record . Betting is for adults only and can be addictive: responsible betting . --- Source: https://manometer.bet/guides/value-bets.html Guide # What is a value bet? A value bet is a bet whose odds are higher than the fair odds of that outcome. It says nothing about whether this one bet wins. It says that the price is good, and over many bets, price is what decides. ## Expected value in one line EV = probability × odds − 1. Above zero is a value bet, below zero is not. Example. An outcome has a true probability of 50 %, so its fair odds are 2.00. A bookmaker offers 2.10. 0.50 × 2.10 − 1 = +5 % . On average you would expect 5 cents back per euro staked, over many such bets. Most bets at most bookmakers have negative expected value, because the margin is built into the price. The same outcome at 1.90 gives 0.50 × 1.90 − 1 = −5 %. ## Where the fair odds come from The hard part is the probability. There are two ways to get it. - Your own model. Works if it is better than the market. Few are, and you only find out by measuring it against the closing line. - The market itself. Take the price of a sharp, low-margin bookmaker, remove the margin, and look for other bookmakers that still offer more. Our guide on fair odds shows the calculation. The second way works because bookmakers do not all move at the same time. A sharp market moves first and others follow later, so for a while their prices can be too high. ## How to tell whether it works Do not judge a few dozen bets by profit. Measure closing line value : if your prices keep beating the fair close, the edge is real, whatever the last week looked like. Expect long losing runs. At even odds, ten losses in a row start about once every 2,000 bets even with a coin that is perfectly fair. Stakes have to survive that. Many bettors stake a small, fixed share of their bankroll for that reason; only bet what you can afford to lose. ## The traps that fake an edge - Old prices. A fair price from an hour ago is not a fair price. Compare prices of the same moment. - Different markets. Two-way including overtime is not the same as three-way in regular time, even when the screen shows the same teams. This is the most common source of huge fake values. - Very high values. A value above roughly 15 % before kick-off in a major market is usually an error, a stale price or a different market. Check it before you believe it. - Prices you cannot get. Odds can change between seeing and placing, and stakes can be capped. - Bookmaker rules. Winning accounts get limited. Whether and how you use a bookmaker is your decision and your responsibility. ## Value bets at Manometer The board shows prices from more than 90 bookmakers against the Pinnacle fair price, if you want to bet yourself.
